Absence from Patrol for 30 days or less is regarded as vacation time, while greater than 30 days is a leave of absence (LOA).  
I understand that upon return from an LOA of 90 days or more, I will be required to complete a recheck with a designated instructor before resuming routine duties. The maximum time off for an LOA is six months
